Sejual's Corner
I had great fun in visiting Devon a couple of weeks ago for some holiday time. Our favourite place to visit was The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Heligan was a disused and wildly overgrown Victorian estate. A team, including the Tim Smit of The Eden Project fame, started restoration in the 1990s. The end result is an enchanting wonderland that held so many surprises. There was a luscious luxurious vegetable garden that had me drooling at the mouth. I was amazed to see that old Victorian greenhouses had been restored to grow pineapples whilst kept warm with manure! The best bit was stumbling upon what is possibly the largest Californian Redwood in Europe. ![]() |
