I got to go to a book launch this last month. How exciting! Now before you start searching the Times Bestsellers list I have to admit it’s legal tome. So I don’t think we’ll see it nestled alongside Gordon Ramsay’s latest offering.
My friends and former colleagues, Emma Sanders and Elizabeth O’Neill have written about UK Competition Law Procedure. It was fun catching up with people I worked with at the launch.
And the nicest things about it all? Emma came up to me and mysteriously said ‘Have a look at the dedication!’. I peered in and was surprised to find my name in the dedication with 7 other people! Wow, don’t think I’ve had a book dedicated to me before.
We’d all worked intensely together in this area of law a few years back. It’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had of working in a team. We worked long hours but still kept our enthusiasm and sense of fun. That was down to the great communication we had and the support we gave one another. I really appreciate the book dedication.
Another thing that’s had me jumping up and down with glee is my eyesight is improving naturally! I had my eyes properly tested 5 months ago. At that time there was a slight improvement in one eye, enough so that I had my lenses changed. A few weeks ago my glasses started feeling uncomfortable. I went for an eye test. Surprisingly I had a quarter point improvement in each eye and change in my eye shape. That’s quite odd given I’m in my early 30s and the change happened in so short a time. Even my optician was surprised to see me back so soon. I’m now following a vision improvement program with the aim of naturally regaining my full vision and being free of glasses by 2008.
