In times of collective difficulty, we look towards other people’s experiences to see if they can show what might lay ahead for us. Problems with maintaining mortgage repayments, spiralling energy bills and the cost of living jumping up are regular news features we hear and read about. They can be stern alerts to reigning in reckless spending habits. But what if your habits have been very different and you have managed your money judiciously in recent times? By focusing on the problems besetting those caught in the painful spotlight, do we ourselves run the risk of falling head first into a bear trap of financial woes just because that’s what we have concentrated on? Is there some other action you you take in achieving your goals?
In the last month I’ve received a large number of electronic newsletters that I never signed up for. They refer to me by names I would never choose, e.g. Sejual San (a Japanese name to signify Reiki Master). I’ve had polite e-mails offering to sell me Reiki music, others telling me about training I could attend in Texas at a local health centre there, and yet others with tenuous links to my work. With each one my address has been harvested from sites where the e-mail is hidden unless you go to great lengths to get them.
If you are focussed on achieving your goal, letting go for the result to come to fruition can be the last thing you allow yourself to do. After all, you're meant to stay on top of it and make sure it happens
. . . aren't you?
I was reading about the perils of being a workaholic in Seth Godin’s marketing blog. Seth is a wiz in re-inventing approaches to marketing in a fresh way that have an impact on the way we do business and maintain relationships in today’s world.
I thought it timely to write about how to energise your affirmations. Before Christmas several people asked how to work with affirmations. Then I noticed that Hay House Publishing has released a new film recounting the life story of Louise L. Hays. Louise is regarded by many as the Queen of Affirmations. Her classic book You Can Heal Your Life has provided inspiration to many people seeking to heal their physical health problems by using affirmations to instil more positive ways of thinking.
