A phobia is an extreme fear of a particular object or situation that would not normally trouble most people. However, the phobic person often rationally knows that there is no real danger. To cope most phobia sufferers go to great lengths to avoid what they fear.
When the phobic person actually encounters, or even anticipates being in the presence of the feared object or situation, they experience immediate anxiety. The physical symptoms of anxiety may include an increased heart beat, shortness of breath, jelly legs etc. The emotional component of a phobia involves an intense fear, for example of losing control, embarrassing oneself, or passing out.
Commonly people try to escape, and then to avoid the feared situation wherever possible. This may be fairly easy if the source of their fear is rarely encountered (e.g. fear of snakes). Avoidance will therefore not restrict such a person's life very much. Some phobias however, like agoraphobia, can limit a person's life severely because of the scope of their effect. Escape and avoidance can also make the root problem more intense as it takes greater hold over the person.
If you would like to enjoy your life more fully and be released from the phobia that has been affecting you, then I can help. I work with Emotional Freedom Techniques when helping phobia sufferers as it is a gentle technique that easily and efficiently allows a person to shed the fear that has imprisoned them.
By tapping on meridian points and through the use of focused wordplay, we creep up on the phobia bit by bit and work to permanently neutralise each component of it. As part of the treatment, once the phobia appears to be collapsed, we carefully test the work done to see if it has indeed been properly resolved.
Simple phobias that purely arise from the problematic situation can be easily resolved within one to three 90 minute sessions.
Other complex phobias can have deep emotional roots that seem unrelated to the phobia at first consideration. However, through discussion it can come up that the phobic response has been the mind and body's way of expressing its distress about the deeper underlying issue. These types of deeper phobias can take one to12 sessions to resolve.

Amazing, simple, but terribly effective. I ate over 30 mushrooms out of my back yard at age 5. Since that day, any taste of mushroom brought everything up. Now here I am, without any problem after practicing EFT that Sejual had taught me to do. EFT and Sejual are now my trusted friends

The success EFT has in resolving phobias has been scientifically demonstrated in a peer reviewed study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, 59 (9). 943-966. The research group studied the effect of EFT on people's phobias of small animals and insects by comparing it with the effect of a deep breathing technique on the same phobias. The study found that whilst the deep breathing technique can help in the treatment of phobias, EFT came out way ahead on 4 of the 5 measures used. Most importantly EFT participants held their gains far better than did the deep breathing subjects when the groups were re-assessed 6 to 9 months after they had learned their technique. EFT is a good alternative to traditional counselling.
