Reiki Training
Usui Reiki training from Levels 1 through to Master level are available from Healthy in Mind. Usui Reiki is the name for the traditional form of Reiki taught in the West through the lineage of Mrs Takata. In addition to my western training, I have separately receieved instruction in traditional Japanese Reiki techniques from Frank Arjava Petter, who was one of the first in the West to publish historical information on the original roots of Reiki in Japan. I incorporate some of these techniques in the classes I teach.
For Levels 1 and 2, I teach Reiki in a small friendly group of a maximum of 4 people to ensure that there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions that are important to you whilst at the same time allowing for thought provoking discussion.

Reiki Master/Teacher training is by private arrangement, and will normally involve 1 to 1 tuition over 4 days.
Below are descriptions about each level.
Reiki 1
This course is for beginners seeking to start their Reiki journey into healing and greater self development. You will cover key areas of knowledge to empower you into working with Reiki to benefit your health and well-being. You will receive clear practical guidance on how to work with this beautiful healing system and how it can further your spiritual growth. You will receive 4 attunements connecting you with Reiki energy, a manual with comprehensive notes for this level and a certificate of attendance.

- Meaning of the word Reiki
- History of Reiki
- Reiki Lineage
- Reiki principles
- Gassho meiso (traditional Japanese technique)
- 4 attunements
- The importance of self healing
- Chakras and the 3 diamonds
- Reiki hand positions
- 21 day healing period
- Kenyoku ho (traditional Japanese technique)
- Sensing energy
- Grounding and protection
- Giving Reiki treatments to friends and family
- Reiki Mawashi (traditional Japanese technique)

Reiki 2
Attuning to the next level of Reiki will help you develop your knowledge and application of it. You will receive 2 further attunements which will enable you to work with a greater strength of Reiki energy. You will also be instructed in working with sacred symbols to help you provide healing energy more effectively and distantly. Level 2 training is typically required by insurance providers in order to give Reiki therapy treatments for the public, and so is often viewed as a practitioner level. More importantly, it's a development of your own journey into self-healing and self-mastery, and the course will reflect on these important aspects to your growth and learning.
I am happy to teach Reiki 2 a minimum of 3 months after a person has first been attuned to Reiki 1.

- Meaning of each Level 2 symbol
- Correct drawing of symbols
- Healing at a distance in time and space
- Giving Reiki treatments professionally
- Developing your intuition
- Byosen Scanning (traditional Japanese technique)
- Introduction to other minor symbols

Reiki - Master/Teacher Level
This level includes both the level 3a and 3b definition that some teachers use. Whilst some teachers may teach Reiki 3a by itself for personal self-development, in my view there is much growth and learning to come through deeper application of Levels 1 and 2 - Reiki Evolution offer a good course for those wishing to deepen their application of Reiki without going to Master level. Therefore, I only take on students for this level where they wish to teach Reiki to others. I am happy to teach Reiki Master/Teacher level a minimum of 1 year after a person received their Reiki 2 training.
Specific topics covered in this course are:
- Working with the Master symbol
- The importance of mastering yourself
- Advanced Reiki techniques (Japanese, Western, and other traditions)
- 1 or 2 attunements (dependent on student's needs)
- Introduction to other symbols at Master level
- Guidelines in teaching Reiki
- Demonstration and practice in attuning
